The Quest for a Flourishing Earth is the Most Significant Appreciative Inquiry

With David Cooperrider and Ron Fry Case Western Reserve University

WAIC 2019 Pre Conference – March 19th (10.00 / 17.00) – Centre Universitaire Méditerranéen,

The urgent global agenda for change as represented by the Paris agreement, as daunting as it seems, is truly an invitation to Appreciative Inquiry (AI’s) finest hour. It will be in the perfect union of a micro AI and macro AI, whereby each will become more effective and realize a new level of excellence.  Building a better world is the most potent force on the planet—for generating, on the inside of every kind of business, the most engaged, empowered, and innovation-inspired enterprise every leader wants.

In this session, David Cooperrider and Ron Fry explore AI’s north star; the discovery and design of positive institutions leading to “full spectrum flourishing.” They will share and discuss how a combination of the world’s 17 UN global goals combined with advances in the Appreciative Inquiry Summit method together create a union that brings out the intrinsically motivated and very best in human systems.

This workshop proposes the one radical, new message for AI practice: macro AI may be the most generative form of micro AI–and the reason why is captured in the concept of “mirror flourishing.”
